Ivo Welch, Yale/SOM: Executive Turnover Data Base
These pages allow access to a directory that contains a data base of
executive changes in the top 100 companies listed in the 1982 Fortune 500.
The data includes personal backgrounds on individual executives, and
individual promotions. It took 3 years to build this data base.
The data base is copyrighted by Ivo Welch, (C) 1997.
License
- The purpose of making the data publicly available is to allow it to be
used for instructional, academic purposes in a university environment. I
hereby grant teachers permission to use this data in classroom assignments.
- Individual researchers in not-for-profit institutions are permitted to
look up individual turnovers for research purposes, as long as the number of
managerial records used stays below 20. Please cite the use of the data in
your references. (However, please note that you do not have permission to
write a paper based primarily on the data obtained from this data base. I
have spent a lot of effort, time, and money to collect the data with the
goal of doing research on it. I just have not yet gotten around to it.)
- In addition, if you would like to use this data for non-academic
purposes, a single-user, non-exclusive license can be purchased at low-cost.
It is a condition for access, use, and distribution that this notice be
distributed with the data.
